"Music enables the ever wandering mind to visit and meet the soul"
Music for Meditation anD Healing
His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji is a renowned composer, singer, and musician. Sri Swamiji has performed more than 350 concerts over 35 years, and understands that the ancient music system of Rāga-Rāginī has unparalleled access to melodies, and has created many new rāgas using the ancient system within present musicology. Due to the prolific nature of Sri Swamiji’s compositions, the title Sāgara, ocean, was given to express this form of Rāga-Rāginī.
The music benefits many people physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It shifts the level of consciousness to subtler mind frequencies, thus helping to experience inner peace, harmony, and quietness of the mind. Those who hear the music in concerts and through broadcasts and recordings benefit directly and indirectly.
“Among the many teachers, gurus, and yogis that can be found in India, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda shines like a brilliant star. Thousands now visit Mysuru Ashrama where Sri Swamiji resides during the brief time between music tours. From early morning to evening music is heard: Vedic chanting at sunrise and public bhajan sessions at night. Sri Swamiji’s music and yoga lectures are regularly seen on national television, broadcast from the ashrama's Nada Mantapam—an enclosed outdoor hall with a seating capacity of over 5,000. Sri Swamiji is a highly inspired singer-composer-lyricist credited with thousands of musical compositions and songs in various languages. Sri Swamiji has been awarded twelve Guinness World Records, including records for the most people chanting (128,918 participants), the largest music therapy session (1,814 participants), the most bird species in an aviary (468), the largest display of bonsai trees (2,649), and the largest simultaneous Hindu text recital (1,329 participants reciting the Bhagavad Gita).”
